Barbara Kingsolver spoke to a sold-out crowd in Seattle about writing, research, her sheep, her sleep, and how she believes that hope is a choice one makes every day. My notes follow:

 

The author prescribes 

poetry before we sleep.

slip on with my shoes and walk
